Panaji, Nov 16: The wings of two chartered aircrafts brushed against each other at Goa airport affecting the operations for the latter part of the day.
A Moscow-bound Trans Aero flight dashed against UK-bound Iber world chartered flight parked at Goa airport, officials confirmed.
No causality was reported although the Russian flight which was taking off had 356 passengers on board, authorities stated.
The incident occurred in the afternoon at 2.25 p.m., when Moscow bound chartered was ready to take off on the runway. "The flight's right wing dashed against the tail wing of UK chartered flight," officials stated.
All the passengers were evacuated as both the flights remained grounded on the runway blocking the incoming traffic on the airport.
The airport officials stated that the outgoing flights managed to take off using alternate runway.
"The runway would be cleared soon after clearing off both the flights," authorities stated.
Goa airport receives around 37 flights daily of which seven are chartered from different nations.
The tourist season has begun in the state and total 700-odd flights are expected to land here during this season ending in March 2009.
