Myanmar delegation visits Varanasi, Sarnath


Lucknow, Nov 9 (IANS): A delegation of the National Defence College (NDC) from Myanmar visited Sarnath and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a spokesman of the army said.

The 38-member delegation led by Major General Myat Kyaw, Commandant of the NDC earlier visited Gaya in Bihar.

The delegates visited places of historical significance including Myanmar Monastery, Dharmaraj Stupa, Dhamek Stupa and Mahabodhi temple at Sarnath. The aim of their visit is to develop bonhomie and enhance mutual understanding between both the countries, the spokesman told IANS.
