Hindu group calls Kerala shutdown day after Sabarimala temple opening

Mumbai, Nov 17(DC): The Sabarimala temple reopened to the devotees for the third time after the Supreme Court verdict on Friday evening. However, protests against the entry of women of menstruating ages are continuing in and around the hilltop shrine.

Today, a rightwing Hindu outfit has called for a dawn to dusk strike in protest against the arrest of Hindu Aikyavedi KP Sasikala who was on the pilgrimage to Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple.

The holy shrine opened on Friday for a two-month-long pilgrimage season. Some 500 women have registered themselves to visit the shrine after the Supreme Court in September allowed the entry of women between 10 and 50 years.

However, no girl or woman in the previously banned age group could offer prayers so far following stiff resistance by devotees and activists, opposing any change in the temple traditions.

On Friday, activist Trupti Desai had to spend an entire day at Kochi airport as she was prevented from leaving the airport by protesters opposing entry of menstrual age women into the Lord Ayyappa shrine. She aborted her attempt after over 14-hour stand-off.

Instead of title saying 'Hindu', it should read BJP has called for Bandh. The BJP has nearly 10 crore members and the majority of Indians don't subscribe to its militant views which sided with British India and its Guruji's admired Hitlers Germany.
The Sabarimala protests were BJP’s agenda Kerala BJP president PS Sreedharan Pillai has already acknowledge by stirred up a controversy after he allegedly said that the Sabarimala issue was a “golden opportunity” for the BJP. The TV channels aired a video clip in which BJP Chief on Orchestration of Sabarimala 'Game Plan'.
For the BJP, Sabarimala Is Not a Place of Worship But a Battleground. The Hindu Right, which celebrated the apex court’s triple talaq judgment for liberating Muslim women, is now protesting the court’s interference in religious practices.
When people talk of precedence of faith over the law, they should be mindful of Sardar Patel’s example, who didn’t hesitate to foil attempts of Travancore rulers to invoke a Hindu deity to not join India.
Though BJP has erected worlds largest 'Statue of Unity' don't like to follow his words. Now peaceful 'God's own country' is on the verge another 'Ayodhya' of South India for polarisation of the majority of vote bank.
A pattern similar to Babri Masjid Demolition. But the place of worship is different.
