PM Modi, Amit Shah trying to create opposition less India: TDP

Amaravati, Nov 17(PTI): The TDP Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah were seeking to create an opposition less India and said the party's objectives was to 'protect democracy'.

"Modi and Shah are trying to eat away other parties so that no opposition is left in the country. Democracy will be that much stronger only if there is a strong opposition," TDP politburo member and Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said in a statement.

He said 'protecting democracy' was TDP’s objective while it was everyone’s responsibility to prevent BJP from retaining power (at the Centre) in 2019.

He also slammed changing of names of some cities in the country, saying it was a 'Tughlaq act'.

Interestingly, the Chandrababu Naidu government had also embarked on a name-changing spree.

It rechristened Rajahmundry as Rajamahendravaram and Anantapur as Anantapuramu.

Names of projects and many other schemes launched by Congress governments were also changed in the last four years.

The contract killing of former Gujarat Home Minister is the best example to prove TDP accusations. Perhaps late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister who is radioactive poisoned and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Chief Minister Kalikho Pul who is compelled to suicide living note are the warnings to the opposition parties of India.
Haren Pandya was Gujarat’s home minister between 1998 and 2001, under Keshubhai Patel’s BJP dispensation, which was overthrown in an internal coup. The clash between Pandya and the new chief minister, Narendra Modi, is part of BJP lore, right up to the two testimonies Pandya gave about the Gujarat riots, including one before a citizens’ tribunal headed by Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer.

Not long after taking over as chief minister, Modi stripped Pandya of the home portfolio and made him junior minister of revenue. By August 2002, Modi had elbowed Pandya out of the cabinet entirely, and in October, Pandya was denied a ticket in the upcoming elections, which the BJP won with a resounding margin thanks to the violence.

We cannot fault name changing per se, though we may not like it and need not praise it. But there is a marked difference in what BJP did in UP and other places and TDP and Congress did in their states. The latter, viz. TDP and Congress, changed the names of places to suit their language and local custom. But the former, viz. BJP intentionally picked up names denoting the muslim nomenclature and changed them to Hindu identity damaging the secular fabric of the country. This is much more dangerous than any other change in nomenclature.

The only objective of Modi led BJP and RSS is to oust congress from power. Apart from that there is nothing. That is a vengeance RSS carried even prior to Independence against congress and it is the same that is going on even now.

There was others parties ruled india, even BJP for that matter. But, the Ajathashatru, honorable Vajpayee, did not do all what RSS wanted. So, even he is getting ridiculed by BJP is claiming nothing happened prior to Modi and 2014.

Largely, people across India, now know the game of Modi led BJP and RSS, so luckily for the country they are sidelined in every poll that is happening. It will continue as it is really hard for BJP now to correct themselves. Only an absolute defeat in every poll in next 10 years, shall bring new thinking and new leaders, to make it better political party, that stands for India. But, the medicine of defeat in polls is a must for now, before it is too late.
