500 kg of marijuana seized in Thailand

Bangkok, Nov 22 (IANS): Around 500 kg of marijuana were seized in a crashed pick-up truck in northeastern Thailand on Thursday.

A total of 500 bars of marijuana were found after the truck overturned and fell into a roadside ditch at a curve in Khon Kaen province, Xinhua news agency quoted the police as saying.

The driver fled. Investigators believed that the driver was delivering the marijuana to a drug network member in Khon Kaen, which borders Laos.
