Unnao, Nov 24(DC): In what could stoke a fresh controversy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Sakshi Maharaj has called for the demolition of Delhi's Jama Masjid while asking the people to hang him if idols of Hindu deities are not found beneath the staircase of the mosque.

Addressing a public rally in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao on Friday, the BJP parliamentarian said, "After entering politics, the first statement I made in Mathura was: Leave Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi and demolish Delhi's Jama Masjid. If you do not find Hindu idols beneath its staircase, you are welcome to hang me."

Maharaj, who is known for making controversial remarks, even cornered the Supreme Court for delaying the verdict on the Ram temple issue.

"I condemn the attitude of the Supreme Court. They delivered verdicts on a number of cases of less significance, but they are deferring the Ayodhya matter. I expect Prime Minister Narendra Modi government to pass a law in Lok Sabha for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. I expect the construction of the temple will start before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls," he asserted.

Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India built by Shah Jahan between 1644 and 1656.

Maharaj's statement comes at a time when scores of political leaders are seeking a government ordinance for early construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

On Friday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut even questioned as to why the Centre is taking so long to bring an ordinance for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya when Ram bhakts (devotees) had demolished the Babri Masjid in just 17 minutes.

The Ayodhya dispute has been a talking point of late, a mass gathering by organisations such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and some Hindu activists and saints will be held in Ayodhya on Saturday and Sunday. The mega show will coincide with a two-day visit of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to the city.

    Modi has no control either over the Government of the BJP party that is why there is a free for all prevailing across the country with no accountability on any issue be it corruption, raped, Lynchings, the list is endless.

    All that Modi and his central ministers have done all these four and half years to indulge in electioneering in states and bypolls and have brought the country to a virtual stand still with lack of any direction. People have lost Trust and Confidence in this Govt and the earlier it is shown the doos the better for our Beloved Country.

    Thier only agenda has been to polarise people in the name of religon and indulge in Divisive Politics with total disregard to the long term well being of the country.

    This Controversial MP Sakshi Maharaj has a trail of rape and murder charges behind him.
    Sakshi Maharaj, the self-proclaimed godman and Bharatiya Janata Party politician, has been grabbing the headlines ever since he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao constituency.

    In the eight months since the election, he has claimed that madrasas teach students terrorism and "love jihad", called Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse a patriot, asked Hindu women to protect their religion by producing at least four children and declared that cow slaughter and conversion to Islam and Christianity would soon be punishable by death.
    The BJP parliamentarian from Unnao has been accused of at least two rapes and two murders. Maharaj had to spend a month in Tihar jail on rape charges but was eventually let off.

    Alleged Crimes Ram Bakth Sakshi Maharaj has committed;

    1. In 2000, a college principal from Etah had filed a police complaint against Maharaj, accusing him and his two nephews of gang-raping her, when the godman was driving from Agra to Etah. he was sent to Tihar jail for rape charges but was later released.
    2. In 2006, a Manipuri disciple from Maharaj’s ashram complained that he had taken advantage of her and raped her in the ashram.
    3. In 1997, the then MP of Farrukhabad, Sakshi Maharaj was named as one of the involved persons in the killing of Brahm Dutt Dwivedi.
    4. In 2013, Maharaj and his brother were accused of murdering Sujata Verma, a member of the UP state women’s commission, who had visited the ashram in Etah. After the incident, Maharaj had been on the run. Later he was pleaded innocent.

    It is no doubt that even Ram Lala idol has appeared in Babri Masjid which is demolished later. Now the same strategy is used to Jama Masjid after Taj Mahal in which daily prayers are offered for 400 years now banned.

    No need for demolition of Ja'ma masjid. FYI, there are modern techniques to find out if anything is underground. If no objects are found you will be definitely hanged upside down. If found then go and punish those who buried them under the mosque. Why innocent people now who are not part of that plan then and never met and seen them should be the victims for no fault of theirs.

    People around the world especially the Muslim world maintained peace on demolition of Babri masjid. Now if you dare to do any more mosque demolitions all your temples worldwide will be vandalized and razed to the ground especially the ones in Dubai where Modi inaugarated recently. Members of ESKON will desert.
    I don't think any extreme communal organization in India will dare to do that.
