Panaji, Nov 26: Goa has its first gift from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) Ltd in the form of a Konkani movie, which will be produced by them.
Written and directed by local film-maker, Laxmikant Shetgaonkar, a film revolving around the life in Goa's forest will be produced by NFDC.
"The shooting of the film has started just three days back," NFDC managing director Nina Lath Gupta said.
The NFDC is organizing film bazaar on the sidelines of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for last two years.
Gupta said that Shetgaonkar's script was amongst the eight film scripts selected during film bazaar of IFFI 2007.
Shetgaonkar has earlier directed a Marathi movie produced by Goa Marathi Academy, which won national award two years back.
Gupta said that the movie would be ready for screening by March next year and will be taken for the film festivals.
"We can take a call on where to screen it only after looking at the final product," Gupta said.
