Amarinder discharged from hospital, advised rest


Chandigarh, Nov 29 (IANS): Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh was on Thursday discharged from the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here and has been advised rest by doctors.

The 76-year-old Chief Minister was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after he developed fever.

He was kept in the hospital for the night and was discharged after completion of some tests.

Doctors said that he is suffering from routine viral and have advised him rest, besides medication.

Amarinder became Chief Minister of Punjab in March 2017, leading the Congress party to a thumping majority in Assembly elections. Earlier, he was Chief Minister from 2002 to 2007.
