Dubai Nov 21: The day out of the members, their families and friends of Kemmannu Flowers, UAE was held on Friday November 21 at one of the parks in Dubai.
The picnic started at 12.00 noon with a welcome speech by president Arvine Quadros. All participants were smoothly divided into 6 groups and a leader for each group was selected.
Suzy Fernandes who led the day's progamme, explained all the group leaders their role, the rules and regulations for the games, the point system for each game and how they can win at the end.
Around 100 Kemmanites and their friends attended the picnic party. While Suzy Fernandes conducted games to the adults, Clarice D'Souza conducted games to the kids. Ronald D’Souza, Arvin Quadros, George Lewis, Donald Saldhanha, Vijay Saldhanha, Febella Pinto, Roshan Mendonca and Stany D’Souza were the judges for the games.
Lucky games such as musical chair, bombing-the-stations were conducted for the children and small kids. All children participated in the games with lot of enthusiasm and sportsmanship. They were also given prizes.
Games conducted for the elders were quite exciting. Several games such as passing the ball, Coin race, topping up the empty bottle with water, bottle feeding, crow and crane, guessing the weight of water melon were held for the adults.
The entire day’s events were filled with enthusiasm and there was an atmosphere of enjoyment everywhere. All Kemmanities participated in the games enthusiastically with lots of cooperation, laughter, joy and sportsman spirit.
According to the point system three teams were selected as winners, first and second runners-up respectively. The winners will remember this day as long as they use the mobile phones which were presented to them. Mr and Mrs Keneth Saldanha had donated 20 mobile phones as gifts to the winners.
Free T-Shirts and tomato paste was gifted by Mr & Mrs Sathish Venkatraman (Chilly Willy), another Kemmanite. As usual every year the plastic sheets to sit on the ground were gifted by Mr & Mrs Gilbert D’Silva, a well wisher.
Mouth-watering Mangalorean food was served by Canara Restaurant, Karama, Dubai.
Febella Pinto, Secretary, Kemmannu Flowers UAE concluded the day-long programme by proposing vote of thanks.
