Hassan: Centre agrees to release Rs 10,000 crore for Shiradi Ghat road development

Hassan, Dec 2: Shiradi Ghat, which lies on NH 75 and which is the only link that connects Mangaluru with the capital of the state will be upgraded further with tunnels and flyovers.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Rs 10,000 crore for constructing 23.63 km long tunnel and fly over is in the final stages. This project will be sanctioned in another six months.

This assurance was given by Nitin Gadkar, central minister for land transport.

Gadkari was speaking in a programme, of symbolic initiation of works worth Rs 1,865 crore on national highways that connect four districts with Hassan that was organised near the city bus stand. In addition, Gadkari also had discussions with chief minister H D Kumaraswamy at the HAL airport.
