S.Korea hit by winter's 1st cold wave


Seoul, Dec 5 (IANS): South Korea was on Wednesday hit by the first cold wave of this winter, with the mercury falling below zero in many regions across the country, the national weather service said.

Temperatures dropped nationwide by 10 to 15 degrees Celsius on Wednesday from the previous day, Xinhua news agency quoted the Korea Meteorological Administration as saying.

The mercury dipped as low as minus 4.3 degrees Celsius in the capital Seoul in the morning, minus 7.5 degrees Celsius in Cheorwon and minus 2.7 degrees Celsius in Daejeon.
