Patna, Dec 6 (IANS): A day after a lawyer with the Patna High Court was shot dead by motorcycle-borne criminals here, police on Thursday said his wife and in-laws were behind the killing.
Jitendar Kumar was shot on Wednesday in Rajeev Nagar locality, killing him instantly.
Claiming the victim's wife and in-laws were behind his murder, Deputy Inspector General Rajesh Kumar said the killing was a result of a dispute over property and land.
Four persons, including his wife, have been detained for interrogation.
Inspector General of Police N.H. Khan has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the crime.
