Ranchi, Dec 7 (IANS): A Class 9 girl student committed suicide in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum on Friday, police said on Friday.
Puja Giri, 14, hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her room.
"She was in school uniform ready to go to school. She got a phone on her mobile. She then went to her room and did not come out for half hour... I saw from the window that she was hanging," the distraught father told the police.
The parents say that she received a telephone call from a boy and committed suicide. Puja was the lone child of the Giris.
