Mangaluru: Alva's Foundation to adopt children of parents who died in temple tragedy

Mangaluru, Dec 17: Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri will adopt three children of a couple who died after consuming poisoned prasada at Sulvadi Maramma Devi temple, Chamarajanagar.

Krishna Naik and Mailibai died after consuming the temple food. Alva’s Pre University College principal Dr Kurian met the three children and their relatives and spoke on providing them Rs one lac donation and free education.

Addressing media, Alva’s Foundation president Dr M Mohan Alva said, “Free facilities will be provided if the eldest daughter of the couple, Ranibai pursues her B.Sc, second daughter Priyabai BSc nursing and son Rajesh Naik pursues PU education. Their hostel stay and food will be completely free. The foundation will also ensure that they are employed after their education.”
