Kundapur: Stabbing inside school premises - one taken into custody

Kundapur, Dec 18: A past student of a junior college here, who had escaped after stabbing a student of the institution with a knife inside the premises of the junior college here a few days back, stands arrested.

The old student of board high school here, aged 17, was picked from Hunumanala in Kushtagi, Koppal district and brought here on Monday December 17.

It is said that the stabbing incident was backed by love affair.

The arrested minor was produced before the judge of the juvenile justice board. Thereafter, he was handed over to the children's home at Nittur for a period of two days.

A case was registered in the police station here, alleging that a murder attempt was made on Anup Sherigar (17), a student of the said institution, on November 29 this year. Sherigar was stabbed in his abdomen, chest, neck, shoulder and temple.

Harish R Naik, police sub-inspector of the local police station, had found the minor juvenile delinquent from his native place in Koppal district.

It is said that the accused, the girl with whom he is in love with, and some friends together had held discussions and planned this attack. The past student, after stabbing Anup, had visited Kody near here and then to Thekkatte where he got his injured hand treated. On the same evening, he travelled to Bengaluru by train. He then went to Ramanagara on December 2 and reached Bagalkote on December 3. On December 4 he reached his native place, the police said.
