Rajasthan BJP workers stage protests against allegations by Rahul on Rafale

Jaipur, Dec 19 (IANS): Rajasthan BJP workers on Wednesday staged a statewide protest against "baseless allegations" made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the Rafale fighter jet deal and submitted a memorandum to district collectors across the state.

The memorandum said Gandhi has misguided the people by levelling false allegations against the Central government in orde to reap political benefits from the Rafale deal, putting the national security of the country at stake.

According to BJP media in-charge Vimal Katiyar, four separate petitions were filed before the Supreme Court questioning the pricing, the offset partner, as well as the process set to decide the Rafale deal.

The Supreme court had dismissed the petitions which sought a court-monitored probe into the Rafale deal and said that "nothing questionable" was seen in the decision-making process of Rafale. It also said that the bench was not competent to question the pricing and offset partner choice by Rafale manufacturer Dassault.
