Mangaluru Dec 19: “The district administration is planning to introduce an app which will help in tracking the movement of city buses. Passengers can make use of the app to give feedback about their travel,” said deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil during the Road Transport Authority meeting at DC office on Wednesday, December 19.

The idea came up after frequent complaints poured in about the buses not moving on regular routes.

The DC also said, “Passengers also can use this app to book auto rickshaws online. As part of Smart City project, the district administration was planning to come with an app pertaining to transport section. Firstly, the city buses will register into the app followed by the auto rickshaws. The app is expected to launch in the month of April 2019.”

Further in the meeting, the city buses operators were asked to install radio frequency identification (RFID) and also paint their buses with light blue with three white strips in the middle.

President of district bus operators association Dilraj Alva said, “The bus operators will soon fix GPS systems and the association has already started mapping all the buses which are functioning in the city.”

The meeting also saw complaints being raised about conductors not issuing tickets and buses changing their routes. The DC said, "Technology that we will come up with, will address the issues pertaining to city buses. This advanced technology will help in tracing the city buses which will breach the rules of not moving in regular routes and action will be taken accordingly.”

"Through this app, passengers can book auto rickshaws online. Auto rickshaws functioning in the city should register and come under this app,” he said.

Every time this bus news articles comes I have mentioned about the noise free busses. (Without music)

most of buses that use sound system in buses are horrible... the sound always ear breaking from the sound boxes kept unter seats or in cabins.

In this moment bus music is not required because each and everyone got their mobiles in hand and using own music.

unfortunately no one taking this noise issue to District administration.....

let Driver conductors do their work without music for the safety and security of the passengers.....

Abolish the private bus mafia, the city buses stop anywhere they want. The conductors do not issue tickets. They also ask the passengers to alight from the bus they are traveling and get into another bus all this merging of trips happens the RTO is not bothered since it is one of the most corrupt departments. The phone in program is not effective too.

More than the app, they must educate the drivers and conductors to behave like humans and not like demons. Their approach to passengers who are their customers must change.

But right now it is totally different. Many of them behave like goons.

DC baba, why are you wasting time? If you have guts, then immediately shift the service bus stand to Pumpwell, 60 per cent traffic problems will solve. Simply wasting our tax money. Making one way around Nehru Maidan another foolishness. Now your new system will mess traffic block from State bank to Hampankatta. At present the block is from Lady Goshan Hospital to Sydicate bank Hampankatta.

    Dear DC,

I have highest respect to all DCs...Starting from Major Monroe first DC( District Collector of Canara in 1800, after Tippus death on 4th May, 1799)...

Major Monroe, who was involved in battle against Tippu...you are last successor to him so far...till Kummy transfers you to somewhere...

Like Major Monroe fought against Tippu...you should fight against Corruption with Government employees...most of them need major surgery ...

Most of them are not available in Offices, during business hours ...before you track buses through apps/GPS...better tie a radio collar each to all government employees...so they could be tracked during office hours...we track tigers in forest by radio collars successfully so far...

    ...Tak...Takk...
