Mangaluru: Cyanide Mohan - hearing in two more cases concluded, verdict postponed

Mangaluru, Dec 20: The court has concluded hearing in two more cases of rape and murder lodged against serial killer, Cyanide Mohan. On Wednesday, the court reserved judgment which is likely to be announced on January 17.

These cases pertain to two girls, who went missing respectively from within Vittal police station and Bantwal rural police station limits.

Although the judgments in these cases were expected to be delivered on Wednesday, the judge postponed it to next month.

Mohan is yet to be tried in 13 more cases of rape and murder, as seven cases have been decided so far. Mohan had allegedly raped and murdered not less than 20 girls between 2004 and 2009. In 2014, he was given death sentence in three cases. In the fourth case, he was given life term.

In the fifth case too, judgment of which was announced on February 24 this year, he was awarded life term.

    What is the logic behind in continuing trial of a person who has been sentenced to death 3 times? Enku Panambur?

    In three cases he has been given death sentence. Why waste time and money on more trials and feeding him in the jail....!!!???? Close the issue once for all. Such guys shall be hanged immediately as he killed many innocent women.

    "2004 and 2009. In 2014, he was given death sentence" and in 2018 Feb he has been given life term!!!! hahahahaha what a joke.... why the hell he was not hanged when the verdict was given in 2004 itself.

    our law system is so pathetic that a convict who is sentenced to death in three cases is still tried in the remaining cases.

    Is he going to be hanged 20 times?

    Only God knows when our law and courts will get awakened

    As it is already proved that he is a culprit what is the necessity of continuing other 13 cases?
    Just one case is not enough to declare judgement? Culprit in one or two cases is a culprit. Remaining 13 other cases should be dismissed and the judgement would have declared.

    I still wonder until police catch him there were so many protests from so called religious organizations and swamiji.. The moment police catch this criminal all organizations stopped all protest just because he belongs to our own community... So if the criminal is from our own community no need to question.. no value for those 20+ poor gals who lost their life?
    I just think what would have been our reaction if his name was from another community? We must see criminals as criminals irrespective of religions and should stop feeding food for this kind of animals and hang them..

    It is true veerappan and raj Kumar case settled recently after so many years of their death this also like this.
    From 2009 to 2018 only 7 cases finished for 7 cases another 10 years and remaining 6 cases another 9 years. For sure the judgement will come out after his death. Till then I request all the lawyers and judges who defend him take a deep sleep for another 30 years..
