Ban on offering prayers at public places in Noida sparks controversy

Noida, Dec 25 (IANS): An order issued by the police in Noida asking mostly multi-national companies to bar their employees from offering prayers in open public spaces in Sector 58, sparked controversy on Tuesday.

The notice issued specifically warned that the firms would be held responsible for any breach of this directive.

Although Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal clarified that the notice was not for any "particular religion", it was widely believed that the notice pointed to the namaz offered by Muslims in open public spaces.

An official confirmed that at least a dozen companies in Sector 58 of Noida have been served the notice by the concerned police station.

In India cow has gone from 'Mata' to 'Menace'. Farmers can’t keep them, traders don’t want to buy them, and gaushalas are full. The result: Havoc on farms and roads.
India’s Sacred Cow Now Threatens an $83 Billion Dairy Industry. affected. Deprived of the option of turning their spent milkers into hamburgers, the farmers who make up India’s 5.3 trillion rupee dairy industry have little incentive to expand their herds, which threatens government plans to expand the milk supply. Prohibitions on cattle slaughter deprive farmers of more than 250 billion rupees of annual income collectively and lead to 20 million abandoned cows a year.
The problem is that cities are expanding & permission is not easily given to build mosques these days.
Even rulers in princely states freely gave land to all communities. Today, the situation is such that locals oppose, administration hinders, governments stop. In Mumbai, they once didn't give permission to build top floors in mosque & used to say Muslims pray on roads.
The matter should be resolved through Haryana Waqf Board rather than. Freedom of religion in India is a fundamental right guaranteed by Article 25-28 of the Constitution of India.
If Haryana BJP government Muslims to stop prayers, then it should also misuse government properties for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh shakha training. The government properties should be only used for government purposes and no festivity should be allowed.
If fundamental rights of Muslims denied then cow which worshipped Mata should also be taken care with the same respect.

Before about 4 1/2 years, prayers were said near the mosque. Suddenly banning them in saying prayers is not right. Every religion has a right to practice their religious right as long as they do no harm. Why these people interfere in the religious practice? If this is the case, then during certain festivals, roads are blocked with trucks and people dancing on the road, these should be banned right. Yet we say nothing and let them practice their way as long as they do no harm.

Instead of banning, give them space to use for prayers. Please do not take away the rights to pray. Let us live as one big family with peace.

Other religions dont come to public road every week to show off their religion. Even when they come to road they allow vehicle to pass on one side and allow emergency services to pass. As we have seen even if there is space available inside they prefer to stand in road blocking general public.

SC has already given verdict on mosque which will not be remained integral part for muslims to attend prayers and now this.
It is indeed a unfair attitude towards muslim community which I giess will be grabbed international attention someday.

Looks good decision but this decision must implement to all religious and don't target single community. like any religious activity not allowed in road or highway or market or general public place. This country belongs to every Indian.

Yes. It should be applied to all communities. Government should give permission to build their religious places in their own property. If you have your private property, nobody should object. I have never heard that any Muslim or Christian have objected to build religious places.

    D. Shetty..what about those gudi's found at each road? Why we need to allow them. And when the question of road widening comes, these gudi's are kept intact and some one else's land is used. Why we should have kolas or yakshaghanas in open places? If anything is banned, then ban for all and don't direct one religion.
