Bengaluru, Dec 27: The BJP has condemned the failure of the state government is utilizing the funds sent by the central government to be used for its ambitious project of 'Smart City'.

A press statement released on Wednesday, December 26, by BJP MLA C T Ravi, chief state secretary of the party and A H Anand, co-spokesperson of the party, said, "It shows the negligence of the state government, which has utilized only Rs 86.02 crores out of the Rs 886 crores grant released by the central government towards the Smart City project."

The duo also questioned the reason behind not utilizing the funds, though the central government has granted the same to be utilized in the seven large cities of the state to develop facilities including basic infrastructure.

The BJP also said that the central government led by prime minister Narendra Modi has released financial grants for all the projects of the state without showing any discrimination.
