Udupi: Video of bus drivers fighting in middle of road goes viral

Udupi, Dec 29: The traffic was disrupted near to Govinda Kalyana Mantapa on Friday, December 28 due to the quarrel between two private bus drivers over timing issue.

It has been learnt that two private busses plying between Udupi and Mangaluru started quarrelling after parking the buses in middle of the road. This disrupted the traffic flow on the road.

It is said that the passengers in both the buses, including ladies and aged ones, were unhappy with the incident.



This incident took place at around 8.30pm on Friday.

The video of this quarrel has gone viral social media.

    These buses are namesake private buses. They take nearly one and half hour to cover distance between Mangalore and Udupi.
    At best these buses can be called as hopping buses which skip one or two stops in between.
    There are no non stop service between Mangalore and Udupi, Udupi and Kundapura.

    Abolish the private bus mafia in the twin districts. All are goons the bus staff and owners. The bus drivers should be booked for obstructing traffic.

    Terminate the license of private phase by phase and one year time all private buses should be out of road!! Why government is not trying to help bus users by scrapping private bus lobby??
    Start government buses from airport to Mangalore, Udupi and Kundapur!! Charbi will start vanishing!!

    This happens only in the athi buddivanthara jille of Udupi and Mangagala Ooru Dakshina Kannada.
    Police department is hand in glove with the private bus owner lobby. That is why they are not allowing the operation of KSRTC buses also.

    Our Administration and RTO are puppet of Bus owners association. Better to start Government buses. Then only passengers will get justice. In Mangalore also nearly 10 years over regarding shifting of Bus stand to Pumpwell, nothing is materialised. Now because of their lobby ,they want to shift the bus stand to Padil. It means it will take another 10 to 12 years. Like that way these bus owners association is dragging the issue. Nationalise the private bus all problems will solve.

    Such stupidity is only seen in Mangalore and NO other states.
