Mangaluru: Members of DYFI hold mock inaugural of Thokkottu flyover

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DC)

Mangaluru, Dec 30: The members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Sunday, December 30, held a demonstration against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union minister Nitin Gadkari, highway authority and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel for their failure to complete Thokottu flyover by December 30 as promised.

The protesters brought three men wearing masks of PM, union minister and the MP in procession near Thokkottu and held a mock inaugural programme of the flyover.

Addressing the protesters, DYFI district secretory Santhosh Bajal said, "Modi government who came to power by promising ‘Acche Din’ have not even provided 'acche sadak'(good road). Pumpwell and Thokkottu flyover are the best examples. This protest is being held to create awareness among the public about fake promises of the MP and his central government."

CPIM secretory Krishnappa Salian, Congress spokesperson Farooq Ullal, Kotekar Beedi union president Padmavathi M Shetty, labour union leader Jayanth Naik and others were present.

BJP should organise a rally before Loksabha elections near Pumpwell flyover and PM Modi, Nitin Gadkari, Nalin Kumar Kateel, BSY, Eswarappa, Shobha Karandlaje, Vedvyas Kamath and all the BJP MPs, MLAs and other leaders should be invited. Let them talk about the development of the smart city. Nalin Kumar Kateel's latest statement is about Mangalore Railway Division!! When it will be? After 25 years???

The flyovers and bridges across country is being constructed except this one.

Hence the fault definitely i am sure lies with the state Government and the local municipalities.

This is just a political gimmick and people trying to shift blame.
