Puttur: Three students celebrating birthday meet watery grave

Puttur, Jan 1: Three students met a watery grave on December 31 night here at Nethravathi River.

Three students of Uppinangady Junior College had been to the river to celebrate birthday. After cutting the cake, one of the students went to wash his hand in river water and got drowned. Other two, who tried to help to save him, also got drowned.

The deceased students are Mohammed Suhaid, Firzan and Sahir.

The search operation to trace the missing bodies is underway.
