Panaji, Jan 2: Hours after Congress released an audio tape in which Health Minister Vishwajit Rane is seen and heard to have claimed that CM Manohar Parrikar has Rafale files in his bedroom, the minister refused to speak any such thing.
Rane wrote a letter to Parrikar demanding inquiry into the entire episode claiming that some people were indulging in mischief.
Talking to reporters, Rane said, “Today’s voice note which is being circulated is absolutely absurd and illogical which is being talked about.
“There has been never any kind of discussion on this issue with me or the chief minister. Most importantly from the time I joined BJP, Congress has been targeting me.
“I have always been considered a big threat to them. Most importantly as far as Congress party is concerned, when two MLAs resigned from the Congress and joined BJP, they were after me and today the voice notes which they are circulating have been made up by the Congress party.
“Let them come out with the source. I have asked the CM for a detailed inquiry through the police and also the voice should be sent for checking. This is absolutely nonsense as there has never been a discussion on this subject. Congress has started the year by creating controversy by targeting Manohar Parrikar.”
