Udupi, Jan 2: As there are chances of fishermen being kidnapped from the boat ‘Suvarna Tribhuja’ missing since December 15, 2018, by sea pirates, the union home ministry should intervene to locate them, urged Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje to union home minister Rajnath Singh.
Speaking to Rajnath Singh after Lok Sabha session in New Delhi on Wednesday, January 2, she handed over a letter written in this connection.
“The families of missing fishermen are devastated. Fishermen in Karnataka coastal region are worried and fishing has almost stopped. The dissatisfaction that missing fishermen are not being searched is widespread,” she informed Rajnath Singh.
The minister, who responded to the MP assured of detailed investigations through department officials and police department officials in different states.
