Mangalore, Dec 29: Bhujanga Poojary(40), a resident of Devastanakody in Permude village near here, committed suicide by consuming poison on the night of Saturday December 27.
Poojary who was running a small electronics goods shop in Mumbai since the last two decades, had lost his left leg in a train accident two years ago. He had come home on December 25. On Saturday, he had gone to Mangalore and had consumed poison before coming back home at night. He breathed his last within some time thereafter.
It is said, that Poojary was also running a chit fund in Mumbai and that he had lost heavily in that business, which caused him despair and forced him to take this extreme step.
His brother Shekhar Poojary has filed a complaint of unnatural death with Bajpe police station.
