Addressing a meeting of BJP activists at Sirsi in the district on Tuesday February 5, Hegde predicted that the scandals involving Priyanka Gandhi will also come out into the open soon.

The minister noted that Congress party does not accept the leadership of anyone other than members of Nehru family. "It is an abyss of corruption. Congress government deserves to be rewarded with the Noble prize for the records it has shattered relating to corruption. That party has planted traitors in all the sections of democracy like judiciary, legislature and executive," he commented.
