Mangaluru, Feb 18: Recent years have been of information and massive growth in knowledge in the field of nanotechnology in Chemistry. Hence, the department of Chemistry of St Agnes College is organizing a day-long national workshop on ‘Applications of Nano and Faculty Development Programme’ on February 19 at PG Auditorium of St Agnes Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research.
this is an attempt to bridge the knowledge gap, exposing the staff, research scholars and students of chemistry to a treasure trove of knowledge, directed by experts in the field.
The programme will be inaugurated by principal research scientist Dr Govindaraj, Solid state and Structural Chemistry unit, IISC, Bengaluru and will deliver the Keynote Address. Sr Dr M Jeswina, principal of St Agnes College (Autonomous) will preside over the function.
The day-long workshop will be divided into four technical sessions facilitated by eminent scientists from esteemed institutes and universities. These include Dr Govindaraj, principal research scientist from IISC, Bengaluru, Dr Santosh M S from CIIRC, Jyothi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, and Dr Murali Banavoth from university of Hyderabad. The workshop will cover topics such as wonder world of nanotecnnology, solar energy materials and solar cells, the fascinating world of carbon materials: journey from synthesis to applications and FDP on the art of writing and obtaining Project grants: A Paradigm Shift.
