Bengaluru, Feb 19: The public thrashed a 26-year-old for stalking a class 9 student and handed him over to the police in Bengaluru. However, he was let off after the girl’s mother refused to file a complaint.

The stalker identified as Naveen was earlier working in a garage but after he quit the job, he stared stalking the teenage girl.

On Monday he started following the girl around 9 am when she was heading to her school at Laggere. He then tried to lure her by offering her a smartphone. When she turned down his offer he was enraged and forcibly stopped her and started misbehaving with her.

A passerby, who witnessed this episode, was quick to catch the youth and call the police. The public who gathered for the commotion thrashed the youth for harassing the girl and handed him to the jurisdictional Nandini Layout police.

According to the cops, Naveen made it a point to follow the girl whenever she stepped out since the past few days. When the girl complained to her parents, they ignored it.

On Monday the girl’s mother refused to file a complaint stating Naveen was their neighbor and police had to let him off only with a warning.

This is not what is expected out of girls' parents. Tomorrow if they run away with any man of their liking, don't bring Sangh/Dala men to defend your right to own her up her or bring the girl back.

Refusing to file a complaint is a great irresponsibility displayed by you and such attitude encourages youth lacking principles in their life. Probably his parents too are like you who never taught him to respect women.
