Beltangady: Four-year-old succumbs to severe burn injuries

Beltangady, Feb 21: A small girl, who had been admitted into a hospital after suffering severe burn injuries, breathed her last on Wednesday February 20. The girl had sustained critical injuries after gruel from the cooked rice fell on her.

The victim has been identified as Nishmiya (4), daughter of Abdul Khader and Rukiya couple from Pilya Badriya Nagar in the taluk. Boiling water from a utensil in which rice was cooked had fallen on the child's body when the utensil was being lowered from the stove on February 13. The girl who suffered 50 percent burns had been admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru.

A case relating to this incident stands filed in Venoor police station.
