Kasargod, Feb 21: In connection with the murder of youth Congress activists, Kripesh and Sharathlal, the investigation team has succeeded in arresting another accused. The arrested man has been identified as Saji George.
Saji George happens to be a CPM activist. He had functioned as the driver of the vehicle used by the accused to move about. The car used by the culprits has already been taken into custody.
With his arrest, the number of people arrested in the case so far has risen to seven. The five people already in custody are being questioned by the police.
A local CPM leader, identified as A Pitambaran, had been arrested in connection with this case by the police. Pitambaran was led to the spot of murder on Wednesday and questioned. Four weapons were also taken into possession. Pitambaran has been remanded to seven days police custody for detailed interrogation.
