BSF officer shoots himself dead in Poonch district


Jammu, Feb 22 (IANS): A junior Border Security Force officer on Thursday shot himself dead in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, police said.

Karamvir Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector, shot himself with his service rifle at Balnoi near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

"The officer shot himself dead with his service rifle inside a bunker in Balnoi area of the LoC. The officer was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival," police said, adding a case has been registered in the incident.
