Dharwad: Honey-trap alleged - complaint registered against divorced woman

Dharwad, Feb 24: A woman who divorced her husband on the basis suspected illicit relationship, it is said, tried to coerce a businessman from Hubballi into parting with huge sum of money.

The woman in question has filed a complaint of rape against the said businessman. It is said that dialogue which took place between the two sides over the possibility of reaching an out of the court settlement had failed.

The woman and her accomplices reportedly were demanding for payment of Rs 15 lac if the man did not want a case to be filed against him. As the businessman concerned did not yield, rape case was filed late night on Friday. Allegedly, a police officer extended help to the relative of the woman to register the said case.

The person against whom the complaint has been registered happens to be Sridhar Khapre. The complainant has been identified as Ayesha (40). Khapre has filed a counter complaint against the woman.

Personnel of Old Hubballi station are investigating the case.
