Kalaburagi, Feb 24: State home minister, M B Patil, noted that the audio gate involving BJP leader, Yeddyurappa's attempt at luring legislators of other parties with money and power, is a serious matter. He said the special investigation team (SIT) which has to be formed to probe the incident would be formed soon and officials would be provided to the SIT in full as per requirement.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday February 23, Patil pointed out that Yeddyurappa has already acknowledged that the voice recorded therein is his own. While congratulating Yeddyurappa for this confession, he said that the conversation also covers payment of Rs 50 crore to the assembly speaker and names of Prime Minister and judge were mentioned. Therefore, he said that the government is treating this matter in all seriousness.

At the same time, the minister reiterated the government's commitment to set right anomalies in the pay structure of police personnel by adopting Auradkar committee report.

    Please fast track the investigations so that these shameless actions of luring MLA's with Huge sums of money can be put to an end. Those responsible for such actions should be brought to book no matter what position they hold in public or civil life.
