Bengaluru, Feb 24: The transport department in the state has sent a proposal to the government for consideration. The department proposes to revise bus fares of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation once in three months, based on diesel price changes happening during the quarter.

Transport minster D C Thammanna, who gave this information to media persons at Vidhana Soudha on Saturday February 23, said that as per this formula, bus fares will go up when the diesel price goes up, and go down if the oil prices fall.

Thammanna said that bus fare had not been raised in the state divided between four transport corporations during the last five years. He added that Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has sent a proposal seeking permission to increase the fare.
