Kasargod, Feb 24: Days after two youth Congress activists were murdered, miscreants tried to set a Congress leader’s house on fire at Uduma on Sunday, February 24.

The house of Congress Uduma block samiti president Rajan Periya was set on fire by the miscreants.

It has been a week since two youth Congress activists were murdered. Following the murder, groups belonging to CPM and the Congress have clashed which has often turned violent.

On Sunday, when the Congress leader was at home along with his family members, few miscreants set his house on fire. The furniture and other items kept outside the house were reduced to ashes.

It may be recalled that day after two Congress activists Kripesh and Sharath Lal were murdered, several houses, shops and offices of the CPM were set on fire in revenge.

The police have already arrested seven accused in this case.
