Karnataka's first multi-purpose car park to be launched on Feb 27

Bengaluru, Feb 25: The state’s first multi-purpose car Park with several features is all set to be launched in Bommanahalli in Bengaluru city limits on February 27.

The car Park includes s static display of vintage cars, an amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 3,000, a sandpit for children to play besides an enclosure for tortoise and rabbits.

The car Park is a result of the Initiative taken up by Bommanahalli BBMP corporator Ram Mohan Raju. Earlier, the coroporator had taken the initiative to set up a stone Park with stone sculptures in a place which was once used as a garbage dumping ground.

Addressing a press conference, Ram Mohan Raju said he wanted to do something noteworthy for the citizens of Bommanahalli in a place which was vacant and unused. He said the car Park was possible with the support of Bommanahalli legislator Satish Reddy and late Union Minister Ananth Kumar.

The aim was to provide a lung space to the people in addition to basic amenities, he added.

Mohann Raju said that this was an ideal place for children, addicted to mobile phones, for physical activity by the way of an open gym and an amphitheatre for the display of their talent.

Former Deputy chief minister R Ashok, Bommanahalli legislator Satish Reddy, BBMP mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun, BBMP ruling and opposition members are expected to participate at the inauguration of the Car Park on February 27.
