No shifting of NCI Jhajjar facilities: Nadda

New Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS): Union Health and Family Welfare minister J.P. Nadda on Tuesday said facilities envisioned for National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Jhajjar will not be shifted to any other medical institute.

"There have been reports in a section of the media regarding the status of NCI. There should be no confusion. Facilities envisioned for the NCI Jhajjar shall be developed there only and shall not be shifted elsewhere," he said.

"NCI Jhajjar is an integral part of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and is a specialty tertiary healthcare institute dedicated to cancer care," Nadda noted.

AIIMS Rewari (at village Manethi), announced in the interim budget 2019 will be 22nd AIIMS to come up in the country and the first in Haryana.

"The site for this AIIMS has been finalised at Manethi in Rewari. The institute will be set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana," he said.
