Udupi: 22-year-old from Nepal electrocuted while working in fishing unit

Udupi, Feb 27: A 22-year-old native of Nepal died after being electrocuted in a fish pond in Kaipunjaly, Chatlikere on Wednesday, February 27.

The deceased has been identified as Pathu Sahni from Nepal. He was working at a fishing unit of Rama Poojary in Kaipunjalu for the last one week. On Wednesday, when he was working along with two other labourers, he got electrocuted when he switched on the pump set.

Another worker immediately switched off the pump and informed Kaup police. The body has been shifted to Ajjarkad mortuary in Udupi.

Kaup circle inspector Mahesh Prasad, ASI Laxman B and MESCOM officials rushed to the spot.

Kaup police have registered a case in this regard.
