New Delhi, Feb 28 (IT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with over 1 crore Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and volunteers from 15,000 locations across the country at 12 noon on Thursday. The BJP has claimed the interaction to be the "world's biggest video conference". The programme has been titled "Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot".
"On Feb 28, PM Modi will interact with over 1 crore BJP karyakartas, volunteers and well wishers, spread across 15,000 locations, in what would be world's largest video conference," BJP president Amit Shah said in a tweet on Sunday.
People across the country can send their questions to PM Modi through the NaMo app. In Gujarat alone, PM Modi will be addressing the BJP workers through video-conferencing across 450 centres under its "Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot" programme.
With the interaction, PM Modi is aiming at mobilising support from the general public and galvanising the party workers into action for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
"Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot - Get ready for a unique interaction with PM Narendra Modi on February 28. The Prime Minister will be interacting with volunteers, supporters and party karyakartas from across the country," read a message on the prime minister's website.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed the prime minister for engaging in political activities when an IAF personnel is missing in action with Pakistan jets.
In a tweet, Kejriwal wrote: "I would urge the PM to postpone this [Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot programme]. At this moment, we as a nation, need to spend all our energies and time to get the IAF pilot back safely and to sternly deal with Pakistan."
PM Modi's political engagement has come a day after Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets crossed over the Line of Control (LoC), breaching the Indian airspace. Later in the day, Pakistan also claimed to have captured an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot who had flown his aircraft into the Pakistani airspace, after India breached India's.
Pakistan also released a video of a pilot in their custody. On being questioned, the pilot, in the video, identified himself as Wing Commander Abhinandan.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) later released a statement and confirmed that an Indian pilot was missing in action with the Pakistani aircraft.
