Kannadiga can become PM if coalition wins 20 seats: CM Kumaraswamy

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 28: Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy spoke on the possibilities of a Kannadiga becoming prime minister if the coalition government wins at least 20-22 seats in Karnataka.

Speaking at an event, he said JD(S) national president HD Devegowda was made India’s 11th PM in 1996 after the party secured 16 Lok Sabha seats.

When asked if his statement could become a reality, why can’t it happen? He questioned back. “In this country anything can happen?” he said.

Currently, HD Deve Gowda is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha, representing the Hassan constituency of Karnataka.

Fantastic. Just like he became lucky to take gaddi in Karnataka, he probably has Astro-indications that he can become second time lucky and occupy the gaddi in Indraprasta.

Crazy things have happened in the past and who knows, if Kumaranna's astrologer is right, it can happen again.

Fantastic Mr.Swamy.....true anything is possible in India. A regional party with 16 seats out of 544 seats father becomes the PM of this country. With almost 1/10th position the son becomes the CM of the state thrise. Best part is even before the election results he boldly declared his target of around 40 seats

India is a democracy and the PM is not selected on the basis of region, mother tongue, religion or caste. He or she has to be an Indian not Italian.

I think this time Revanna should get a chance to become PM. He has been denied opportunity to become CM. it is real partiality. It necessary to win 20 seats. Even if he wins 10 seats, still he can become PM.

He may be referring to Deva Gowda, the old war horse and only accidental prime minister of the country. After legislative leader of a local splinter party with just 37 MLAs out of 225 became Chief Minister of a state by sheer chance, Mr. Kumaraswamy started believing in miracles by choice....!

The way media and BJP politicizing post Pulwama attack, there is no indication of any PM who could emerge from opposition party. Somstime it looks the attack was gifted BJP as damgage control.
