Mangaluru: Tulu Sahitya Academy's honorary, book awards ceremony on Mar 23

Mangaluru, Mar 1: A ceremony to present honorary and book awards of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy for the year 2018 will be organized at 10 am on March 23 at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru. This information was provided by the president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, A C Bhandary, who addressed a press meet here on Thursday February 28.

The honorary awards for the year 2018 will be presented to Lalita Rai (Tulu literature), Ratnakar Rao Kavoor (Tulu play), and A K Vijay (Tulu cinema). The award comprises cash component of Rs 50,000, shawl, garland, memento, and citation, Bhandary explained.

'Manna Bajano', a collection of poems authored by Shantaram Shetty, and 'Kombu' Tulu novel written by Rajashree Taranath have been chosen for the academy's Book Awards for the year 2018. The book award consists of Rs 25,000 in cash each, shawl, garland, memento, and citation, he added.

Academy registrar, Chandrahas Rai B, and office bearers, Chandrshekhar Gatti and Shivanand Karkera were present.
