Beltangady: Bike hits parked road roller - rider dies instantly

Beltangady, Mar 1: A youth died after the motor bike he was riding rammed into a road roller that had been parked by the roadside. This tragic incident happened at Sulkeri near Naravi in the taluk on Friday, March 1 morning.

The ill-fated bike rider has been identified as Jayanth, a resident of Yermal House in Belalu, Kanyadi village. Reportedly, the victim was working as a conductor for a private bus company.

The mortal remains of the deceased youth were shifted to the government hospital here for postmortem. A case of accidental death was registered at the local police station.

    No Barricades, no warning signs, I would call the Roller operator as a totally irresponsible character (Not human at all).

    Very sad we lost a youngster. We see in Mangalore various types of vehicles parked on the road and obstructing and confusing the other drivers and riders. In Mangalore we see so many school/college buses parked on the roads, what are the police doing?

    So the road roller is occupying 60% of the road and you call it "Parked By The Road Side"? The driver and the contractor who should made responsible for unfortunate death of a young lad.

    @Navin shetty Dubai,dont you think the rider too has some responsibility?He sees a road roller and still rides with full force without reducing tempo?He sees too no lights at back side of roller means it is parked.Sure roadroller has parked wrong .Everyone who uses road should have his eyes open.RIP.young manHeartfelt sympathys to the family.
