Prize distribution ceremony of 'Godali Sadagara' competition held in Udupi

Udupi, Mar 1: The prize distribution ceremony of 'Godali Sadagara' by Khain Properties, a crib photography competition organized on the occasion of Christmas, was held at Mother of Sorrows Church hall, Udupi here on Thursday, February 28. The contest was organized by Kishoo Enterprises, franchise of Daijiworld Media in Udupi along with Uzward Konkani fortnightly, Udupi.

On the occasion, Fr Valerian Mendonsa, director of communication and media of Udupi diocese addressed the gathering and said, “While making the crib, the participants have placed the statues by imagining the sequences of birthday of Jesus. It was a meaningful programme. As part of Christmas, Daijiworld media had organized two more programmes, through which, it is spreading good message to the society.”



Fr Chethan Lobo, editor of Uzwad, one of the judges of the competitions said, “Before designing a crib, first it must conceive in their mind, to execute it properly. It applies in all phases of our life too. All participants have given their best, though only few will win.”

Our Lady of Mercy Church, Hosabettu, Manjeshwar, and Avinash Joel Castelino from Shankarpura emerged as the winners under the group and individual category respectively.

Sacred Heart Ward, St Dominic Church Miyar, Karkala and Fathima Ward, Mother of God Church, Mogarnad, Bantwal won the second and third place in the group category. St Joseph Church Belman, St Teresa Church, Kemmannu, Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte respectively won the consolation prizes in group category.

In the individual category, John Miranda, Moodbidri, Hansel D souza, Santhekatte won the second and third place while Rajesh Johnson Mathias, Kuntalpady, Karkala, Jewan Fernandes, Hungarcutta, Sasthan, Joel Mendonca, Parapady Cross, Karkala won the consolation prizes.

More than hundred participants sent their entries in the individual and group category.

Fr Valerian Mendonsa, Fr Chethan Lobo, Kishore Gonsalves, managing director of Daijiworld media was present.

Kevin Rodrigues, manager of Daijiworld Udupi extended welcome and Wenilda D'mello, admin Daijiworld Udupi proposed vote of thanks and compered the programme.

Results - Group

First - Our Lady of Mercy Church, Manjeshwar, Kasargod.

Second - Sacred Heart Ward, St. Dominic Church, Miyar, Karkala

Third - Fathima Ward, Mother of God Church, Mogarnad, Bantwal

They also received Rs 6,666, Rs 5,555, and Rs 4,444 respectively along with trophy and certificate.

Consolation prizes

St Joseph Church, Belman, St Teresa Church, Kemmannu, Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte respectively won consolation prizes of Rs 1,111 along with trophy and certificate.

Individual

First - Avinash Joel Castelino, Shankarpura.

Second - John Miranda, Moodubridi,

Third - Hansel D’Souza, Santhekatte

They also received Rs 5,555, 4,444, 3,333 along with trophy and certificate.

Consolation prizes

Rajesh Johnson Mathias, Kuntalpady, Jewan Fernandes, Hungarcutta, Sasthan, Joel Mendonca, Parapady Cross, Karkala respectively won consolation prizes of Rs 1,000 each along with trophy and certificate.
