Finally, IAF Pilot Abhinandan returns from Pakistan

Wagah Border, Mar 1 : IAF pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured by Pakistan after an aerial combat, reportedly arrived in India via the Wagah border on Friday, 1 March. He was received by a team of the Indian Air Force.

The IAF, in a joint briefing with the Indian Army and the Navy on Thursday, 28 February, said that it was happy about Abhinandan Varthaman’s return.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced that Pakistan will release captured pilot as a "gesture of peace"

Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's "goodwill gesture" of releasing Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varthaman turned out to be an ordeal of several hours on Friday.

While Khan made the announcement on Thursday that Wing Commander Abhinandan would be released today, the wait for the return of the IAF pilot kept getting longer and did not happen till 8.50 pm.

The Pakistani authorities got all the paper work completed to hand over the pilot to Indian High Commission officials, but the pilot's return was awaited by hubndreds of Indian visitors who had thronged the border transit point.

There were reports that Abhinandan was kept at Batapur cantonment, located about 10 km from Wagah, where his medical and immigration formalities were being completed.

Scores of people, who had gathered at Attari to welcome the IAF pilot back, continued to stay put despite the delay, darkness and even the rain and cold weather.

Since Friday morning, it was expected that Abhinandan would be released by Pakistan anytime after noon. The release time was pushed back several times and, for unexplained reasons, the return of the pilot kept getting longer.

Authorities in India - the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Air Force (IAF), or anyone else had no idea why Pakistan was delaying the pilot's return.

The Wing Commander was in Pakistani captivity since early on Wednesday. Senior IAF officers, along with those from Army, BSF, Punjab Police and district authorities in Amritsar had arrived before 4 pm at the Attari joint check post complex. There were reports that Abhinandan's parents were also at Attari to welcome their son back.

The IAF pilot was earlier accompanied by officials of the Indian High Commission led by Group Captain J.D. Kurian. The handing over process was delayed by the Pakistan side for unexplained reasons.

Abhinandan was captured in Pakistan on Wednesday (Feb 27) after his MiG-21 Bison fighter jet was shot down during a dogfight near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Thursday that the captured IAF pilot will be freed as a "goodwill gesture" after New Delhi sought his unconditional and immediate release.

If you are not getting job its not Modi fault Mr. Pais. Its because our old congress MP ( Oscar Fernd) and present two illiterate MP ( Nalin and Shobha) . Forget about present MP , previous MP'S like Oscar may tried to develop coastal area or just thought of doing that you got selected in any of the IT sector . 25 years rule of that person spoiled entire Udupi and Mangalore . He is very close to Gandhi family and staying next to sonia house and nothing did for our region. Present MP's are busy in barking in road. Modi cant help if our MP's cant perform well . Modi given some gud schemes that is to be appreciated .

Friends of Pakistan in India have the right to praise Imran Khan and the people have the right to call them anti nationals. Freedom of expression is a double edged sword. Traitors should learn to accept other’s opinions.
They have freedom to go to Pakistan any time. Just as Adnam Sami has come to India. We respect Sami and Pak media respects our traitors. Isn’t this cultural exchange?

Welcome back Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. You kept the Dravidian head high even blindfolded for your exemplary courage.

Now IAF pilot back home safely, the entire nation request Prime Minister Modi to unfollow BJP IT cell member Alok Bhatt who trolled PM Modi wants Wing Commander Abhinandan declared martyr to justify war on Pakistan.

Bhatt wrote, “Treat Wing Cdr Abhi V as a martyr and then fight a bloody and decisive war to payback for Abhi!”

Secondly, We the nation want India Today’s temporary ban till apology broadcasted on prime time on bold letters for Rahul Kanwal anchor broadcasts wreckage of MiG 21 claiming it to be of F16, left embarrassed after defense expert corrects him on Live TV.

This channel with Republic TV of Arnab Goswami has made national shame in world media and even laughing stock on Pakistani media for reporting that between 300 and 650 terrorists had been killed in the air strike by the Indian Air Force.

On Friday in his deposition to the Parliamentary Committee on External Affairs, foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale again refused to put a number on terrorists killed by the Indian Air Force in Pakistan

I request a joint statement of all forces unit command with a strict warning to Indian digital and print irresponsible media for sharing operation data for the public.

Henceforth, Only India's joint command will brief the media in a press briefing.

Imran Kahn has a good heart, he always wanted to do good for his people and country.
