Chamrajnagar, Mar 2: "Public are suspecting that there is some ulterior motive behind the surgical strike. BJP's conspiracy will be revealed in one or two days," said social welfare minister Priyank Kharge.

Priyank was speaking at Biligiriranganabetta near here. He further questioned, "Though there is warlike situation between India and Pakistan, where is the defence minister of the country? Though so many things are happening in the country, why she has not come out?"

Responding in a furious manner to the query on Yeddyurappa's statement that BJP will benefit from the surgical strike, Kharge said, "It is proved from Yeddyurappa's statement that for the sake of votes BJP will go to any extent. Thoughts of Yeddyurappa's mind are made public now. It is understood from Yeddyurappa's statement that BJP are trying to win 22 seats by sacrificing the lives of 44 soldiers."

It might be recalled that B S Yeddyurappa, state BJP president had said on Wednesday, February 27 at Chitradurga that "The BJP party is going to win more than 22 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka due to the Modi wave that is prevalent after the Indian Air Force strike on Pakistan. He also said that there is a wave in the country in favour of BJP due to the Air strike. We have to take 22 MPs from the state and gift them to Modi from our state. Till then I will not go home."

    Why we need to hear to what a foreign journalist says instead of relying on what our servicemen say. What suits the party line does not bring glory to the military.
    And if my countrymen believe that our PM does all this to get a second term not even God can save this country.
    The Kharges may do well to keep silent because of people will certainly think that Kharge and their party does or it has done exactly the same while in power. To me it looks like the statement is totally unwarrented and Priyank as another reader has pointed out is simply not aware who the defence minister of this country is. Even the senior Kharge has not distinguished himself as a leader of opposition with a sub-par performance.

    A us-based expert on South Asia, Christine Fair, has argued that the current government in Pakistan wanted Narendra Modi to be re-elected as India’s prime minister. Analyzing the recent military skirmishes between India and Pakistan, Fair, who can read and write Hindi and Urdu, said that to have a ‘very scary’ enemy in India under Modi suited the agenda of the Pakistani military, which is facing a rebellion of sorts by local Pashtuns in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
    Speaking on an American radio programme, Fair said, “Pakistan these days want Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi to be re-elected. That might sound counter-intuitive but what Pakistan has to deal with domestically is some ongoing rabble-rousing by a very important group called Pashtun Tahaffuz movement.
    If what Fair said has any truth, it presents a very scary scenario to people on both sides of the border.

    Modi has been under fire for his indifference even when 45 CRPF soldiers were killed in the deadliest terror attack against the Indian armed forces in Pulwama on 14 February. He was seen shooting for a documentary film, being made on his life in Uttarakhand. His top party leaders were either busy campaigning or performing at a musical concert. A day later, Modi had attended an election rally even when Indian security forces were still counting their fallen heroes.

    In India, MNS leader Raj Thackeray too had made a stunning allegation against National Security Advisor Ajit Doval accusing the Centre’s Narendra Modi government of orchestrating the Pulwama terror attack for political gains.
