Bengaluru: Brawl inside resort between Congress MLAs - video unravels another story

Bengaluru, Mar 3: The incident in which two Congress legislators got involved in physical fight when they were holed up in Eagleton Resort near Bidadi in the outskirts of the city on January 19 this year has now got a new twist.

Fight had broken out between Anand Singh, who represents Vijayanagara constituency, and Kapli MLA, J N Ganesh. It is being claimed now that the issue on which the two fought a pitched battle related to fielding of a woman candidate from Hagaribommanahalli constituency in Ballari disrict. The video footage that has emerged now shows the MLAs pulling and pushing each other with both of them holding on to each other's collar.



The video shows Anand Singh questioning Ganesh whether the latter would hit him. Ganesh is heard telling Anand that he was making a mistake in supporting the candidature of a lady. The video has another voice telling one of them to let go.

Currently, Congress MLA, Bheema Naik, represents Hagaribommanahalli in the assembly. The constituency is reserved for scheduled caste candidates. Efforts are on to field the wife of Sandeep Singh, a relative of Anand Singh, in the next election, it is said. Reportedly, Sandeep Singh's wife belongs to scheduled caste and Anand Singh has been supporting her efforts to become Congress candidate in the next election.

Anand and Bheema Naik had quarrelled on this issue inside the parliamentary party meeting. Reportedly, J N Ganesh was trying to strike a compromise between Anand Singh and Bheema Naik. Both Anand Singh and J N Ganesh had visited Bheema Naik's room to mediate the issue. During this visit, friction arose between Anand Singh and Ganesh, after which injured Anand Singh got admitted into hospital and filed police complaint against Ganesh.
