Mangaluru: ‘Relish-2K19’ multi-cuisine food festival inaugurated at Milagres Church Ground

Mangaluru, Mar 3: ‘Relish-2K19’ a day-long food festival organised by the department of Hotel Management, Milagres College, was inaugurated at Milagres Church Ground on Sunday, March 4.

Walter D Souza, member of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) and former president of KCMA inaugurated the festival. Fr Valerian D’Souza, correspondent, Milagres College, blessed the event. Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal, Milagres College, Lavina, vice-president, PTA, and Prof Lourdswamy of Milagres College, were present.

In his inaugural speech Walter D Souza said, “Food is a primary need of every creature on this earth. Without food we cannot imagine our existence. But these days, people have stopped cooking. According to a survey, 80 percent of people in the country prefer food which is cooked by others. Hence, hotel management colleges are getting more popular and the students of hotel management have more demand in every corner of the globe. Happy to note that Milagres College has a Hotel Management department and today they are organizing food festival ‘Relish-2K19’.

“I congratulate all students who have prepared delicious food and made arrangements for sale over here. It is our duty to support them as that will help them gain confidence and will make them champions in their respected fields,” he said.

Fr Michael Santhumayor said, “‘Relish-2K19’ is the brain child of our students who are pursuing their Hotel Management course at our college. It is an opportunity for them for exhibit their culinary talent. The guests and food lovers who visit the stalls will get delicious Mangalurean food along with the recipe. I congratulate all students and their coordinators for this initiative.”

The attraction of this food festival is a variety of tasty multi cuisine items in 7 stalls having bakery items, beverages and delicious food both vegetarian and non- vegetarian.

The food festival is open for public.

    I request the Milagres Hotel Management to have this type of stalls daily from 6pm to 9pm. So that food enjoying citizens can eat good fresh food and people can save lit of money spending in different Hotels.
