Bengaluru: Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav resigns

Bengaluru, Mar 4 (IANS): Karnataka's "rebel" Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav resigned from the Assembly on Monday, March 4.

Jadhav, a two-time MLA from Chincholi constituency in Kalaburagi district, submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar without giving any explanation.

"Jadhav submitted his resignation letter to Kumar earlier in the day at the latter's house in Kolar town near Bengaluru," a party official told IANS here.

Jadhav’s resignation comes before the Congress-JD(S) coordination committee meeting, which has sent shocks in the camps of both parties.

According to sources, Jadhav is speculated to join BJP on Wednesday in an event in Kalburgi, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
