New Delhi, Mar 6: “The political situation in the country, which is prevailing after the air strikes on Pakistan has strengthened the stakes of prime minister Narendra Modi,” said Sreedharan Pillai, chief of Kerala state BJP.
Pillai was replying to the queries of the scribes asked on the air strike carried by the IAF.
Pillai further said, “Though BJP does not want to take mileage out of the present situation in the country, the present atmosphere in the country, after the air strike on Pakistan and issue of Sabarimala, is in favour of PM Modi.
When questioned on the election plan of BJP in Kerala, Pillai responded, “BJP is against the coalition of ‘CoMa’. In the state of West Bengal Congress and CPI (M) are joining together for the first time. Accordingly, they will have a friendly contest in Kerala also. So they will form a ‘CoMa’ alliance. The selection of candidates of BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is in its final stage. The district and state leaders had an interaction and suggestions were exchanged regarding the suitable candidates. The national BJP leaders will take a call on the final list of candidates in a few days time.”
BJP will hold Parivarthan Yatra throughout Kerala before the Lok Sabha elections. The yatra, which will be led by the state general secretaries of the party will be split into four zones. The Thiruvananthapuram zone will be led by K Surendran from Pathanamthitta parliamentary constituency, Ernakulam zone by A N Radhakrishnan, Plakkad zone by Sobha Surendran and Kozhikode zone by M T Ramesh. Yatras from all the four zones, which begin on Tuesday will culminate on March 10.
